Dr. Qaisar Abbas – Consultant for Grant Development
Dr. Qaisar Abbas has managed and developed grants for higher education, created policies, analyzed programs, and served as a source of developing grants for faculty and staff at several institutions of higher education.
His background as a faculty of communication, assistant dean, director of multicultural affairs, and student support services, all in higher education, helps him in developing programs and services for higher education.
Dr. Abbas has developed and submitted several large grants to federal departments, foundations, corporations, and state governments. Additionally, he has been reviewing grant proposals for federal agencies and advised several universities and colleges on grant development as a consultant.
He has traveled widely and visited universities across the world for connecting institutions of higher education in the United States and developing capacity-building projects and collaborative programs supported by grant opportunities.
With a doctorate in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he provided leadership as Assistant Dean for Grants and Research Development at a Texas university. There he worked with staff and faculty in exploring funding opportunities for several departments.
He frequently writes for newspapers and academic journals on media strategies, grant development, and international affairs. His co-edited book From Terrorism to Television: Dynamics of Media, State, and Society in Pakistan, (Routledge, 2020) includes diverse perspectives on freedom of expression and media images of social issues.
